This Blog
This is the blog that I write about the BBC/PBS television series Sherlock when I am half-asleep.
It tends to get called a theory blog because I have posted a number of Sherlock theories and readers have asked me a ton of theory-related questions. There is a rather large Theory Index available if you want to know more about that side of things.
Even though I have to admit I’m mostly talking about theories right now, I never intended this to be a theory-only blog. Look back in the archive and you will see there was a time when it was mostly silly pictures. So don’t be shocked if those start sneaking in again at any point.
In terms of safe-for-work-ness, there will probably be occasional swearing here. There will probably not be porn.
Asks
I get a lot of questions about Sherlock—especially about theories.
I like questions. I like trying to help when I’m able. And sometimes your questions have led me to have big, crazy ideas.
So I try to answer everyone’s asks, but please keep the following in mind:
- I’m just one person, and I can’t spend all day every day talking about Sherlock even if I’d like to. Because of this, the current policy on asks is that you will get your answer eventually. That’s the only timeframe I can promise.
- The Theory Index contains the answers I’ve already given to many common questions. Probably worth checking there before asking.
- If you submit a theory-related idea, there is a good chance that I will disagree with you. In public. I’m not trying to be difficult, and I certainly try to give everyone’s ideas a fair chance. But I’ve answered enough theory questions to know that statistically, me disagreeing with you is the most likely outcome. If you can live with that risk, then know that even if I end up disagreeing with you I will still think you’re really awesome and brave.
- Anonymous comments that amount to “I know something you don’t know” rather than adding to the conversation will be ignored or mocked, depending on my mood at the time. Fair warning.
Me
I’ve liked this show since before it existed, but I’ve only been involved in the Sherlock fandom since Series 2 began airing. In other words, since I started this blog. (Sherlock-y things are always supposed to begin with people starting blogs, right?)
I’ve read some of Arthur Conan Doyle’s original Sherlock Holmes stories, but not all of them. So I can help with some of your questions about canon, but not all of them.
I am female. American. Rather ordinary, really. Not much to tell. You can always lurk around on the #me tag if you feel the need.
