Anonymous asked: You mentioned that your tumblr is now the first result when you search for information on the rubber ball pulse stopping trick, and an anon called you "the authority of all things Reichenbach." I kind of stopped searching for other theories when I found your tumblr, so I have no gauge of your popularity within the fandom, but do you have any idea how popular your blog is? Do you know how...

jcrowquill asked: Re: the scream. Really interesting theory... but I wonder if you're being a little Sherlock and wanting it all to be too clever. Jim and his organization use threats very effectively, as shown with the jurors. Wouldn't it be easier (and less risky) for the assassin to say "After the police take you, they're going to bring in a man to talk to you. Here's his picture. ...

pantydragon asked: This has probably been said, but regarding who/what is buried, I don't think it would have been too difficult to claim that Sherlock's head was too messed up to be decent for viewing. Closed-coffin funerals aren't terribly uncommon, and it would be believable, in which case, the coffin is simply empty. As for identifying the body, he played dead for a few minutes on the sidewalk, he...

minorgovernmentofficial asked: RE: The inaccuracies with the gun Moriarty shot himself with. Just because there's no shell doesn't mean it's a clue. They have serious issues when it comes to weapons technicalities on Sherlock. In TGG all of the bombs were detonated by a rifel shot, which is impossible since plastic explosive is the most stable kind of bomb, you can throw it around, use it as modling clay or shoot...

Anonymous asked: I've seen the pictures of another person on the trolley going into the hospital, and I do agree that he must have switched places... But how on earth could he have done that without anyone seeing? How could another body have been put onto the trolley while the bloodied-up, six foot tall Sherlock escaped away? I apologize if you've answered this question already!

tcclockworkfox asked: I just noticed something while looking over the footage of Moriarty's death. He's using what looks like a Beretta, but there's no shell casing being thrown. Even in the panned out shots. I'll admit I'd like Moriarty to be alive, but I've accepted that he could just as easily be dead. I'm curious what you think about the scene and some of the things people have...

Housekeeping updates
The Theory Index is now updated through February 21, 2012. Have fun with that. I’ve added an About page, so the basic blog info can stay put instead of floating through the archive in pieces. The Reichenbach A to Z master list has been updated with all submissions that I’m aware of at this time. If you wrote an A to Z post that isn’t there, it’s probably not showing up...

Do you have a post you'd like added to the...
Apparently Tumblr likes to turn off the question-answering ability of posts after a while. So unless someone can tell me how to stop that, this post is going to get revived very occasionally. Hopefully you won’t mind, and I figure it’s as good a way as any to remind people that they can still submit A to Z theories for the master list. If you’ve created a post for...

If you're just joining us...
Hello! Welcome. Glad to have you here. You might want to check out the starter kit for this blog. (The Theory Index needs some updating, but I am currently working on some boring but vital real-world junk that I need to get done before I can come back and play. And 10 days behind on the index = 150 posts for me to sift through, so… hang in there and use the Archive as needed.)

Anonymous asked: I just found your blog today and have spent many hours looking around here. You blog is excellent. I am totally sold on the idea that the guy from Yard who looked like John was the kidnapper. I am wondering, is there a theory which explains how the 4 assassins fit into the overall scheme of Moriarty's? They don't seem to be essential for the downfall of Sherlock.

221-a asked: I must ask, do you think Irene had any involvement when it came to helping Sherlock disappear? He kept her phone and she owed him a favor, after he saved her life, at the end of the episode. Not to mention, she'd probably believe that he wasn't a fake after he deduced so many aspects of her - that was only known to her. I have a hunch she's somehow in on it.

pantydragon asked: I just spent all morning reading your brilliant theories. I just wanted to weigh in regarding the cracking when Sherlock landed and the inherent risk of landing on even a soft substance: it's possible that Sherlock DID injure himself. A few broken ribs (or collarbone or elbow) wouldn't invalidate any theories on how he survived. He has martial arts training, he could have been in pain...

Anonymous asked: I absolutely adore this blog. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas with us and coalescing things, particularly your explanation for the assassin guy at Scotland Yard, whom I hadn't even thought of until I read your ideas, and now I'm like *mind blown*. ANYWAY, now I'm curious about your opinion on Sherlock's tears on the roof while talking to John. Do you think they're...

Anonymous asked: Just want to clear something up you said: Since Jim was the one who killed Carl and kept the shoes all these years... Was it confirmed that Moriarty is the killer? Sherlock said he was just a kid when that crime was committed, do you believe Moriarty is much older than Sherlock or committed the crime at as a child? Possibly a classmate of the swimmer? Keep up the good work.

sidneyhummel asked: In "The Great Game", the killer who kept Carl Powers' shoes is the bomber-- has Moriarty been following Sherlock around since they were gradeschool kids? If so, I would assume they grew up in the same area, maybe went to the same school. I would assume Sherlock would have known of him earlier, been more... prepared. Something's not adding up for me, and I'm not sure why.

thequestforchocolat asked: I wouldn't worry about Gatiss and the jambulances (clever photo manip though). If I remember correctly, there was that square on the pavement about where Sherlock fell; though googlemaps shows that it has always been there, there have been speculation that it was some sort of "target" Sherlock was aiming for.

Anonymous asked: Just out of curiousity, since all 4 of your theories are pretty long and very in-depth in order to be understood, how long do you think they're going to take (in screentime) to explain everything? I guess I've been assuming that Sherlock would do a fast-talking run through while we were shown flashbacks and things we missed, but I feel like for something as big as this, that just...

I don't know if this is exciting or depressing
So you remember how we were discussing the possibility of whether in this version of the story, John might be allowed to start having the slightest inkling that Sherlock isn’t really dead? And now we’re saying maybe the sniper looks kind of like Sherlock? Not saying they’ll actually go there, but this does leave the door wide open for the possibility of John thinking he’s...

Anon question grab bag
Several Anons had asked me about why I think Jim was the one who arranged for the phone call about Mrs. Hudson. Hopefully I addressed most of what they were asking about in my last post. They did have some other questions attached to that main one, though, so I’m going to snip those out and tackle them all in one big, messy post. Anon question #1: Despite the canon, I’d been...

A fake paramedic. But who told the fake paramedic to call John? Was it Sherlock or Jim? I’ve already expressed my opinion on the subject, but several of you have asked me why I have that opinion. So here is a very long explanation of a very short part of the story. Sherlock vs. Jim: 6 rounds, winner takes the blame for the phone call. ——— Round 1: Canon In The FInal...

i-ve-been-sherlocked asked: Okay. I don't know what happened there, I had the post liked and bookmarked. Their theory was this: there was some construction work in progress at Bart's(it's in the breakfast scene, on the frontpage of the newspaper Sherlock is reading, Moffat also mentions in the commentary that this scene is important?). So Sherlock could have jumped down onto the scaffolding. The camera angles...

jbcubbs asked: i think i may have a theory about what the vital "out of character clue" we all missed might be. When he's on the phone with John, towards the end Sherlock tells him thats the phone call is his "note". But, makes a point in saying, "That's what people do isn't it? Leave a note?" Like he knows its a normal thing to do when someone commits suicide. BUT...

What do you think is its purpose?(if it has a purpose at all, other than showing off) I have a few things in mind, but it all depends on the time it's been uploaded (after or before the Fall)... I just wanted to know what are your thoughts on it, given that you have a quick mind to create...
