Anonymous asked: Hi - I've only just watched The Reichenbach Fall, and as such I haven't read all the speculation about how Sherlock survived - but seeing as you seem to be pretty up to date, do you know what the current speculation is regarding Molly's role in the whole ordeal? Thank you!
There were a couple of anon questions asking about this.
I’ve seen speculation that has her doing all sorts of things: drugging Sherlock, doing plastic surgery on corpses, changing Jim’s clothes and throwing him off the building, driving the getaway truck…
Obviously no one can be sure of what Sherlock asked Molly to do. Personally, though, I’m inclined to think the answer isn’t all that complicated. Sherlock had to end up “dead” without actually being dead. Molly’s a mortician at St. Bart’s, which is why Sherlock picked that roof to jump from. While Molly could’ve helped with anything, I think the main point of her involvement was to do the medical and legal coverup involved in declaring a living person to be deceased. Which was really plenty of work on its own, I expect.
