You know what would be good? Just leave this on loop for the rest of the weekend. Yeah.

This song is wonderful with terribleness. You need to press play. Do it.

“London is London” sung by Petula Clark (video by littleshoemaker)
This week’s #the sounds of baskerville theme: Sherlock Holmes: The Musical
I’m cheating and ending this week with a song from Goodbye, Mr. Chips. Why? Because Leslie Bricusse wrote the songs for that movie, then stole his own work when he wrote Sherlock Holmes: The Musical. So “London is London” is also included in SH:TM, but if I give you this version you get to see it in cheesy staged form. (If you just can’t handle the dancin’, here’s the SH:TM cast recording version.)
“My Incomparable Best” sung by Holmes (video by Wotanrocks)
This week’s #the sounds of baskerville theme: Sherlock Holmes: The Musical
SH:TM is one of several musicals based on our favorite detective. This song is 99% Sherlock Holmes singing about how awesome he is, 1% Sherlock Holmes comparing Moriarty to a weevil. (Which I’m sure was an honest comparison not at all inspired by the fact that “weevil” rhymes with “evil.”)
“Men Like You” sung by Holmes and Bella Spellgrove (video by totofan4ever)
This week’s #the sounds of baskerville theme: Sherlock Holmes: The Musical
SH:TM is one of several musicals based on our favorite detective. This is a Muppet-style lip sync to a song performed by Sherlock Holmes and Bella Spellgrove (who is actually Professor Moriarty’s daughter). Holmes calls Watson “as pretty as a walrus.” No lie.
“Without Him, There Can Be No Me” sung by Holmes and Watson (video by totofan4ever)
This week’s #the sounds of baskerville theme: Sherlock Holmes: The Musical
SH:TM is one of several musicals based on our favorite detective. This song is Holmes missing Moriarty, featuring rhymes for a ton of Holmes short story titles. And it’s edited together with clips from The Great Mouse Detective because WHY NOT?
“Sherlock Holmes” sung by Watson, Mrs. Hudson, Billy Higgins, Irregulars, and Company (video by Wotanrocks)
This week’s #the sounds of baskerville theme: Sherlock Holmes: The Musical
SH:TM is one of several musicals based on our favorite detective. In this number, Holmes comes back from the dead (he “died” in the opening of the show) and everyone sings about how mostly-awesome he is. Because of course that’s what they’d do.
